A Grade Three response was launched in China on Saturday against the severe flood situation on the Yangtze River.

The Office of the Yangtze River Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters reported that water levels at Dongting Lake and Poyang Lake in central China had passed the alert line.

At the same time, several tributaries of the Yangtze River are still at risks of flooding.
