Ahead of China's political season, CGTN reporter Yang Chengxi talked to the China executives of several foreign companies in Shanghai. They spoke about their expectations in terms of future policy directions for their respective industries.
STEPHANE RINDERKNECH, CEO L'OREAL CHINA "We've been in China for 20 years. For 20 years, we've been the beneficiary and witness of the development of China's economy. Lianghui session is really one of the most important meeting in China where they set the future direction that the country is taking towards a more qualitative growth. So we will really expect from this meeting to accelerate the opening up of the market and the reform and to go forward with higher quality development, and also of course to contribute to a clean and beautiful China."
PATRICK LIU, CEO NEUBERGER BERMAN CHINA "We are very hopeful the government will allow us, will give us the opportunity to be more engaged, and as such, a broader license, which will allow us to participate in more businesses and get engaged with a wider base of investors will be of course most welcomed."
RACHEL DUAN, PRESIDENT & CEO GE CHINA "So with the upcoming 13th National People's Congress, I think people will talk about, also we are going to witness a new election of the new leadership team for the next five years. They will further set the policies for going forward with China for the next five years. This year is also very special for China because it's the 40th anniversary for the opening door policy. So what we are very much looking forward to is China continue to further deepening the market reform, further modernize the government functions for simplification, and continue to play equal access and level playing field for all players to be successful in China."
