More than 100 products from Chinese aerospace enterprises are on display at the MAKS 2017 airshow near Moscow.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, who visited the exhibition, said "we have seriously modernized the capacity (of Russian planes) and are implementing projects to create new, competitive civil aviation machines".
The Aviation Industry Corporation of China is showing Xiaolong fighter jets, the Yilong-I unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and its L15 advanced jet trainers at the event.
A series of round table talks and symposiums are due to take place as well as the signing of aviation equipment purchase agreements.
Yin Liming, president of China Great Wall Industry Corporation, said his company has been working with Russia more closely in recent years.
"Through the platform of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, we work on the mobile communication system, and through the platform of BRICS countries, we work on building the remote-sensing satellite constellation," he said.
The MAKS air show was first staged in 1993 and this year has attracted over 790 aerospace companies from 26 countries and regions.
