To another festival now, this time in Ghana, where street art has brought magical colors to the capital, Accra. Artists and visitors alike have DESCENDED on the city to take part in the vibrant event.
Art has taken centre stage in Ghana, as the Chale Wote festival rolled into town. Chale Wote means "man, let's go!" in the local language. And there was certainly a lot to go to, as hundreds of artists showcased their work.
"Chale Wote 2017 was good, 2018 has been great, it's been mad fun. It is better than last year. So big-up to the organizers. It's a great platform for people to showcase their creative talents."
The seven-day event was first held back in 2011, putting Ghana on the map as one of West Africa's cultural hubs. This year, the government poured 62 thousand dollars into the project. And from the rave reviews, it seems like it was money well spent.
"My name is Alan. I am from France and I came this year to Ghana for the 'wale mate' and it's been awesome, the make-up, the costume, everything has been great."
"It's been fun, we have had our paint. I bought this for me and my boyfriend."
This year's theme, "Para-Other", looked at different forms of African expression. And there was more than enough dynamic and diverse expressions to go around! Asta Tall, CGTN.
