Lenovo is seeing impressive growth in BRICS nations, as the Chinese tech giant steps up efforts to tap into the smartphone and personal computer market.
Lenovo Chairman Yang Yuanqing said revenue generated from BRICS nations accounts for 45 percent of the company's total revenue.
"In the past fiscal year, we recorded six billion US dollars in combined revenue from Brazil, Russia, India, and South Africa, marking a 10-fold jump from the number 10 years ago," Yang said.
In addition to occupying the top spot in Russia's personal computer market, Lenovo is also the second largest smartphone vendor there, with a market share of nine percent.
In India, a Lenovo smartphone is sold every three seconds. According to the Beijing-based company, it will ramp up resources to tap into local consumers' growing demand for quality consumer electronics.
