Trump ends CIA arms support for Syrian rebels

US officials said that President Donald Trump has decided to end CIA's program of arming anti-Assad rebels in Syria.
The CIA program was launched by President Barack Obama in 2013.
The American intelligence service is reported to have spent up to one billion dollars a year on its Syria operations.
An unnamed official claims the decision to end the program was made ahead of Trump's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Hamburg, in a move by the US to improve ties with Russia.
