At least 40 people have been confirmed dead in Friday's twin car bombings in the Somali capital, Mogadishu. The Mogadishu mayor says most of those killed were teenagers going home from Lido beach. Al-Shabaab militants have claimed responsibility. One of the attacks targeted the presidential palace, and the other was near the intelligence headquarters. Last year, on October 14th, a truck bomb hit Mogadishu, killing more than 500 people.
