Two rockets believed to have been fired by Israeli jets outside the Syrian airspace targeted the vicinity of the Damascus international airport at dawn Friday, pan-Arab al-Mayadeen TV has reported.
The sound of bombings rattled the vicinity of the airport early on Friday, but government-run media have yet to confirm the attack.
Meanwhile, the Saudi-funded Alarabiya TV said the Israeli attack targeted a weapons depot near the facility.
Israel has repeatedly targeted military positions across Syria, mainly those suspected of harboring arms and munitions for the Lebanese Hezbollah group, which is fighting alongside the Syrian army.
On September 7, an Israeli missile attack killed at least two Syrian soldiers when targeting a military base near the central city of Masyaf.
