Chinese couple Yiyi and Beiqiao decided to improve their love life in quite a different way – they set out on a 150-day, 4,700-kilometer run from eastern Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, to Lhasa in Tibet Autonomous Region, and finally arrived at the square of Potala Palace at the end of their trek on September 10.
23-year-old Yiyi and 22-year-old Beiqiao are both running enthusiasts, and became a couple soon after meeting at a running event in 2016.
In order to improve their love and share a common experience, Yiyi planned a special journey, dubbing it “run for love”.

“I love the romantic story ‘The Legend of the White Snake’, the story also starts at West Lake. Few people had high hopes for our journey but we still wanted to try it,” Yiyi smiled.
On April 14, they took a selfie near West Lake in Hangzhou at the beginning of their odyssey.
They went through many difficulties on the road but fortunately most of time they were safe.
They even adopted a dog during the journey. On the last day of their journey, they ran 127 kilometers from morning to noon on the home stretch to Lhasa.

"We put ourselves in an extreme environment. After we walked together on the road, climbed mountains, got drenched by the rain and basked in the sun, I don't think anything will easily separate us," Beiqiao said.
