Investigation underway as Chinese student dies at Brandeis University in US

A Chinese graduate student at Brandeis University in the United States was confirmed dead last weekend.
The student, Zhang Chuanchuan, passed away while off campus in Boston on Saturday night, according to the university.

However, there is a conflicting report about the time of Zhang's death. According to Xinhua, quoting the Chinese Consulate General in New York, he died on Sunday.
Zhang was found dead after returning from a gathering, with no obvious injury, the consulate general said.
His family has been notified, the consulate general said, without giving more information.
Police are investigating the cause of his death.
Meanwhile, Brandeis has denied earlier media reports which linked Zhang’s death with the armed robbery that took place on campus on Tuesday.
It is very important to understand that there is no indication these two events are linked in any way whatsoever, said the university.
