Chinese troops are continuing patrols in its territory of Donglang area on the China-India border after the end of a standoff between soldiers from the two sides, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday.
Spokesperson Hua Chunying also suggested China is undecided on whether to push ahead with the road construction work that sparked the standoff.
"We will make an overall assessment of the weather conditions and all related factors, and according to the actual circumstances complete construction plans for the Donglang area," Hua said at a daily news briefing.
Hua’s remarks came one day after China and India agreed to a de-escalation in tensions following India’s withdrawal of troops from Donglang, on the Chinese side of the border.
The standoff began in mid-June when India dispatched border police to stop Chinese construction of a road.
