At least 50 people have been killed in twin gun and bomb attacks in northern Iraq city of Nasiriyah on Thursday, reported AFP citing local official.
Some 80 people were also injured in the attacks, according to AFP.
The first attack struck close to a local restaurant. Shortly afterward, a car bomb was detonated at a security checkpoint near the attacked restaurant.
ISIL claimed responsibility for the attacks through its propaganda agency Amaq.
Nasiriyah, the capital city of Dhi Qar province, lies some 375 kilometers south of Baghdad.
