Operations at Sofia Airport in Bulgaria were restored after an evacuation on Wednesday due to a bomb threat, local media reported.
Employees and passengers from Terminals 1 and 2 were evacuated at around 1:20 p.m. local time following security alerts.
However, the information about the bomb turned out to be a hoax and the airport resumed operations at 2:20 p.m. local time. All the evacuated passengers were allowed back into the terminals.
The bomb threat occurred several hours after Bulgaria’s European Commission minister Lilyana Pavlova attended a press event at the airport.
