Afghanistan Conflict: 'ISIL commander' captured, 3 killed in Jowzjan province

Afghan authorities say they have captured an Islamic State commander in the northern province of Jowzjan. Local police say security forces carried out airstrikes on an Islamic State hideout in Darzab district on Wednesday, killing three foreign nationals. Officials say the capture of the commander was a major blow to the group in the province and adjoining areas. Meanwhile, in the eastern province of Ghazni, government forces said they had killed some 20 Taliban militants and wounded 13. Two security personnel were killed during the raid.
