SIPG beat former champions; Shenhua defeated by Suwon

Shanghai SIPG stunned South Korean football team Ulsan Hyundai 1-0 on Tuesday in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League.
The Chinese club came close in the 36th minute. Their in-form Brazilian midfielder Oscar curled in a free-kick from the near side. The ball almost caught Oh Seong-hoon out, but the Ulsan goalkeeper managed to tip the ball over the crossbar and to safety.

In 50th minute, Shanghai’s Brazilian combo contributed to SIPG, as talismanic captain Hulk showed his prowess and strength by forcing his way into the area, before setting up his compatriot Elkeson with a low cross. who easily tapped the ball home for a 1-0 lead.
SIPG almost added a second in stoppage-time, when Hulk found Elkeson wide open, but the Brazilian missed the target. 1-0 was the final score, and with 10 points from four matches, Shanghai SIPG are guaranteed a spot in the round of 16, while the 2012 AFC Champions League winner Ulsan lie second with five points.

Also on Tuesday, Shanghai Shenhua hosted Suwon Bluewings in Group H and were defeated 2-0; the result leaves Shenhua third in the group with three points from their four games, while Suwon remain second on seven points, one point behind leaders Kashima Antlers.
