South Korean President Moon Jae-in says the priority in the upcoming South Korea-US summit is to reconfirm the bilateral alliance in general.
Moon will also attend a meeting with business leaders from both sides to improve the country's economic ties with US.
Full deployment of the disputed Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system was suspended after Moon took office, but the South Korean press reports the president will refrain from dealing with this issue in detail.
The S.Korea-US summit is set to take place in Washington DC from June 29 to 30.
