On CGTN World Insight, three foreign journalists shared their thoughts about the ongoing 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
When asked about the meaning of Xi's words regarding China's territorial integrity, and given that China and the Philippines have faced territorial disputes, Jelly Musico, a news reporter at the Philippine News Agency gave his understanding.

"I'm not worried about what he said, because right now, there is some ongoing negotiation between China and the Philippines," Musico said, adding he had joined a meeting between the two countries and he believed that both countries can achieve positive development. He also said that the President Rodrigo Duterte used his charisma to repair relations with China.
"The CPC National Congress is not only an important or a significant event for the Chinese nation, it is also important at global level," said Pajhwok Afghan News reporter Parwiz Karokhail on what interests the people of Afghanistan.
Xi's report gave a message of regional and global peace and stability, Karokhail said. He added that China had also made contributions to their economy through investment.
"Other nations can follow the Chinese model. Through this, they can achieve what they want. The Chinese model is so far going successfully," said Karokhail.

Jaime FlorCruz, a former CNN Beijing bureau chief, is the longest serving foreign correspondent in China. He also shared his impression of the inner workings of the CPC.
"I would suggest that China is such a complicated story; it's a huge country with very complex history and reality. There is no single story or picture that can define China's complexity. We have to look at the totality of what we're reporting to really determine if we get it right or wrong. Sure we have got it wrong sometimes, but we have to keep in mind that these are very dedicated foreign journalists; they are trying to cover and get China right," said Jaime FlorCruz.

He gave his best wishes for China, saying, "China has a very proud past and heritage and now it's taking its rightful place in history, and I hope China – in the stage and on that level – will be confident but not arrogant."
