The director of the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office met with Taipei City's new mayor in Shanghai. Director Liu Jieyi said the mainland's position on Taiwan has been clear and consistent in recognizing the 1992 Consensus. China stands firmly against Taiwan's independence, and will take action on the 31 measures that benefit Taiwan compatriots to promote economic and cultural exchanges.
