The total number of trips by rail this year has exceeded 100 million, with more than nine million trips made on Monday alone. Transportation authorities added nearly a thousand additional train services to cope with the mass movement of people.  Meanwhile, more than 270-thousand trips were made through Beijing's Capital International Airport. And on the country's highways, the number of those traveling home by car, has increased substantially, accounting for over 20 percent of all travel.  Face recognition technology is being used at many high-speed railway stations nationwide.
