China’s National Audit Office on Saturday presented a report to National People’s Congress Standing Committee that shows the audit on 2016 central budget execution, fiscal revenue and expenditure as well violations in 2017.
By the end of October, a total of 970 people have been punished for violating the use of poverty relief funds and 93 percent of problems found in the audit have been resolved, the country’s top audit said.
Poverty relief funds involved in the rectification totaled nearly 3.27 billion yuan (497 million US dollars), said Hu Zejun, head of the National Audit Office.
To improve precision in identifying the poor, around 101,800 people have been removed from the government list of registered poor, while another 95,100 have been added to the list upon confirmation.
In the same period, 1,363 cases of punishment have been seen for misconducts in national affordable housing projects and 709 regulations related to these projects have been made or improved.
The audit report was submitted to the ongoing bi-monthly session of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee for deliberation. The session will end Wednesday.
