China's Political Season: CPPCC Members on Amendment

We asked a number of CPPCC members what they thought of newly approved amendments to the Constitution.
HE YINGCHUN, CPPCC MEMBER PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER FROM YUGU COUNTY "The approval of the amendment is a big deal that we all hoped for. The public from the minority ethnic groups like us totally support this. The amendment adds the word "harmony" on the relationship with minority ethnic groups, which I think is great."
LUO ZONGYI CPPCC MEMBER "It stresses the leading role of the Communist Party of China. It writes Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era into the country's fundamental law. That works as a navigator to steer the huge ship of the country."
TIAN XIANGLI CPPCC MEMBER "Representing the will of people is assuring an arrangement for the security and stability of a country. For example, writing core values into the Constitution. I think we should advocate the values and the spirit of China among the Chinese people."
