“Many Russian are desperate to see giant pandas. Also, biologists in Russia want to have a chance to take a close observation of life customs of delicate animals, such as snub-nosed monkey and black goose,” said Svetlana Akulova, the CEO of the Moscow Zoo.
“We hope we can participate in more biological experiments, for distinct animal protection,” said Akulova.

However, giant panda – as the highly protected animal in China – is strictly forbidden from commercial trading.
Zhang Yichun, the secretary of Beijing Zoo Party committee said it was not surprising that Moscow wants a panda as it has put many efforts in biological fields and the distinct animal could give them more chances to conduct research.
According to Zhang, there is one panda in Moscow Zoo now and they had found a partner for him. It is possible that people will see a newly born panda baby in Moscow soon.
