The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Wednesday confirmed that it has successfully tested a "Hwasong 15" intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), according to the country’s Korean Central Television (KCTV).
The state media said the new ICBM can put "all of the US continent" within its range.
The missile, launched at 2:48 local time (18:18 GMT) Wednesday, flew 950 km in 53 minutes while reaching an altitude of 4,475 km, according to the state media.
DPRK tested the missile after its top leader Kim Jong Un signed the order the previous day, the report said.
