The hostage drama that unfolded at a primary school in the southern Philippines on Wednesday has been resolved, a military spokesman said, with Islamist militants who held people hostage withdrawing and leaving no casualties behind.
"It's already resolved and the school is safe again," Brigadier General Restituto Padilla told reporters, adding that no children were taken hostage.
However, Padilla also said the military was investigating
whether five civilians are still being held by the militants.
