The China House opened in Gangneung ahead of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games on Wednesday. It's the third time that China has such a structure at Winter Olympic Games. The four-story building is also the biggest ever China House.
The China House will be open to the public for the first time – people can book their reservations on the Chinese Olympic Committee official website in advance.
The main focus of China House is to provide visitors an opportunity to learn about the development of winter sports in this country, as well as the latest preparations for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
Zhang Yaxin, the deputy marketing manager of the Chinese Olympic Committee said: "There are only four years to go before the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. PyeongChang 2018 is the last chance for us to learn how to organize an Olympics, take part in the Games and host China House. We will build on this experience in four years' time as the hosts, operating the 2018 Winter Games and running hospitality houses for Beijing 2022."
One of the highlights of the Games will be Chinese athletes celebrating the Chinese New Year, which falls on February 16. Reports claim that the president of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, is likely to join the celebrations.
