China-Arab Ties: Foreign ministers discuss ways to boost cooperation

Zhao Yunfei takes a look at the agreements foreign ministers made during the day-long forum.

Consolidate the traditional friendship and advance the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. Foreign ministers and representatives from China and Arab countries are attending the eighth ministerial gathering to discuss ways to boost cooperation to a new level.

WANG YI CHINESE STATE COUNCILOR AND FOREIGN MINISTER "We have the basic conditions and ability to achieve common development by strengthening mutual benefit and cooperation so that we can contribute to the national rejuvenation and promote the peaceful development of the world."

China and Arab states together account for one-fourth of the world's population, one-sixth of the Earth's land and one-eighth of the global economy. Together, they are strong with a commitment to build a new type of international relations centered on win-win cooperation.

ZHAO YUNFEI BEIJING "The ministerial meeting has adopted a Beijing Declaration and a 2018-2020 action plan. The plan covers more than 10 areas of cooperation creating a foundation for the common development of China and the Arab states."

The Belt and Road Initiative brings vitality to China-Arab cooperation. And the momentum is accelerating the process of the China-Arab strategy, creating closer economic and trade cooperation.

To maintain peace and stability is one of the goals of the Belt and Road initiative. China supports the Arab states in building inclusive and shared regional collective cooperation security mechanisms, and the Arab states welcome China's positive role as a promoter of peaceful resolution of regional conflicts.
