Egypt's capital of Cairo on Saturday played host to the first Chinese New Year dragon boat festival on the Nile.

The event, which was held in Giza province, saw more than 200 dragon boat enthusiasts from 12 teams take part. The decathlon team from France win first prize in the non-professional level group, with the Chinese embassy team in Egypt coming in a close second. It aims to promote a spirit of teamwork and build the influence of traditional Chinese culture in Egypt.
