Lebanon's Saad al-Hariri said on Saturday he will return to Beirut in the coming days to attend the independence celebrations and then meet with President Michel Aoun before making a declaration on the crisis in his country.
Hariri, who sparked a crisis by resigning as Lebanese prime minister on November 4 during a visit to Saudi Arabia, made the remarks after he held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace in Paris.
Earlier on Saturday, President Aoun – who refused to accept Hariri's resignation while he remains abroad – said that Hariri told him by phone that he would be back in Lebanon on Wednesday for Independence Day celebrations.
