Professional Snooker: Ding Junhui to become a dad in August

There is some great news for China's top snooker player as world number three Ding Junhui is expecting his first child in August. The news was revealed by CCTV anchor Zhang Bin.
Ding confirmed he will become a father on social media. He and some other Chinese sports folk were invited to participate in the Boao Forum to discuss topics such as the development of the sports industry and the growth of ice and snow sports in China. Ding married Zhang Yuanyuan in 2014 and now the couple will soon have their first child. Ding began playing snooker at age 9, and rose to international prominence in 2002 after winning the Asian Under-21 Championship. He achieved his first major professional successes in 2005 when he won the China Open and the UK Championship. A winner of 13 ranking events, Ding lives in Sheffield during the snooker season and will be hoping to win the Betfred World Championship for the first time in the coming weeks.
