Lin Heqin became the first Chinese to claim gold at the World Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Championships. Born in 1993, Lin dreamed of becoming a policewoman when she was a child. She started training in wrestling and moved to Chinese free combat. In 2015, Lin became a professional MMA fighter, competing in tens of rough and bloody fights. Lin will start preparing for her next battle on Oct. 28 in Melbourne after winning the championship. Social media fans took to her Sina Weibo account to offer congratulations. "So excited to win women’s first gold in World MMA Championships’ history, it’s my best wish to make a small contribution to my homeland, thank you all for your encouraging words and support," Lin wrote on her weibo.
