The first round of a comprehensive economic dialogue between China and the US is scheduled to be held on July 19 in Washington DC, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang confirmed during a routine press briefing on Tuesday.
Geng added that the two sides would exchange views on economic and trade issues of mutual concern during the upcoming dialogue.
Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, and Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross will co-chair the dialogue.
According to Geng, the consensus was reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Donald Trump on the sidelines of the Group of 20 (G20) summit in Hamburg.
