To celebrate this year's Forum, the giant sculpture "Golden Bridge on Silk Road" was set up in front of the National Convention Center, one of the main venues for this big event. The "Golden Bridge" is 28 meters long, 4 meters wide and 6 meters high. It is based on the Zhao-zhou Bridge design, an open-spandrel, stone segmented arch bridge. The golden crystal, with national and city flowers, makes up around 20-thousand golden bricks, representing the countries and cities along the Belt and Road routes. It was first built in 2015 by the Chinese artist Shu Yong to celebrate the Belt and Road Initiative. And in this year's side forum on people-to-people connectivity, Shu has offered the use of the golden bridge's brand.
SHU YONG ARTIST "This bridge is to express the links between China and the rest of the world, and to convey China's Silk Road Spirit of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration with the whole world."
