China-Singapore Meeting: Chinese foreign minister meets his Singaporean counterpart

Foreign Minister Wang Yi also met his Singaporean counterpart Vivian Balakrishnan in Beijing on Sunday. Wang Yi said China welcomes the participation of Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in the Boao Forum for Asia in the south of China.
This year is the fortieth anniversary of China's opening up and reform policy, and Chinese President Xi Jinping will address the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum and talk about China's achievements in the past 40 years.
Wang Yi said China will continue to open its door to the world following its own timetable and plan. He said China will also share its opportunities with the world. The Singaporean foreign minister said he expected President Xi's speech would boost the international community's confidence in globalization and free trade. The two sides also talked about the trade friction between China and the US.
