American Eli Holman will miss the rest of the current China Basketball Association League season after he suffered a grave knee injury on Friday.
With three and half minutes to go in the 2nd quarter, the Tianjin Gold Lions' forward stole from Shandong Golden Stars' Ding Yanyuhang for a fast break. But their knees collided before Holman was tripped by the Chinese player who was penalized with a foul.
Holman was taken to hospital and the team doctor revealed later that the forward's season had ended due to a patellar dislocation.
Ding Yanyuhang posts his wishes to Holman on China's Twitter-like Sina Weibo.
