SU YUTING BEIJING During Wednesday's Foreign Ministry's regular press conference, the meeting between the leaders of China and the DPRK is one of the most important topics that attracted media's attention. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang has talked about the significance of the meeting between the two leaders, and its impact on the Korean Peninsula issue and the regional situation. He said President Xi Jinping and Chairman Kim Jong Un have exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of common interests. Let's take a listen.
LU KANG, SPOKESPERSON CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY "China and the DPRK have a tradition of high-level exchanges. In fact, high-level exchanges have played a leading role in promoting bilateral relations. During this visit, President Xi says he is willing to keep close contact with Kim through various forms such as exchanging visits, and sending special envoys and letters to each other. China is willing to increase high-level exchanges, strengthen strategic communications and expand cooperation to benefit the people of both countries."
