Taliban 'captures areas in Afghanistan’s eastern Paktia province'

Taliban militants have captured the center of Jani Khil district in the eastern Paktia province, local Afghan television channel Tolo has reported.
A self-claimed spokesperson for the Taliban asserted that fighters were already stationed in the police headquarters of Jani Khil.
However, the Interior Ministry denied the claims and stressed that defense and security forces are in commanding positions. Taliban militants have captured the Kohistanat district in Faryab and Taiward district in Ghor province over the past week.
