Here's a look at global markets. US stocks fell on Wednesday in a rocky session after the Federal Reserve released minutes of its policy meeting at the end of January.
The Fed was more upbeat on inflation, showing confidence in the need to keep raising interest rates. Wall Street started the day positive, but closed lower after bond yields surged. The dollar index dipped following the release of the minutes, but then recovered. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell two-thirds of a percent, the S&P 500 lost over half a percent, and the Nasdaq slipped two-tenths of a percent. European shares were mixed. Germany's DAX was down slightly, still spooked by recent rises in bond yields. The British and French indices inched up.
