At least 29 people were killed and 64 injured after a pair of suicide bombers stormed into a Shiite mosque in Afghanistan's Herat Province on Tuesday night, a provincial spokesman said.
The blasts took place during evening prayers when the Jawadia mosque was packed with about 300 worshippers.
One suicide bomber blew himself up after he fired into the crowd of worshippers inside the mosque, said police chief spokesman Abdul Ahad Walizada.

The second bomber was among the worshippers when he blew himself up, Walizada added.
"Two attackers entered the mosque and started shooting and throwing grenades at people," Mohammad Adi, a survivor, told Reuters.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
