A self-driving robot began its first test on public roads in Japan this week. The test is going to assess whether the robot is able to avoid obstacles, abide to road safety and recognize pedestrians on the road. The self-driving robots were developed with the aim to be used at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to transport attendees.
