A Youtube video featuring China’s spouting bowl making dancing water in slow motion has gone viral and awed over 1.4 million netizens in recent days.
The Slow Mo Guys started using high-speed cameras in 2010 to show videos hundreds of times slower than what we see with our own eyes.

International audience has been mesmerized by the scene.

“What if you put a more viscous liquid on the bowl?” asked @Bruno Signori.
However, such magical bowl seems unfamiliar to Chinese unfortunately.

Chinese spouting bowl is in fact called Yuxi in Chinese with fish patterns on the bottom, while basin with dragon patterns is called Longxi.

It is believed such bowls have a history of over 2,000 years. As an ancient noble plaything, the ripples, waves, splash, and sound created by resonance make the fish and dragon lively, as if they are swimming in the basin and spouting out water from their mouths.
The bowl demonstrates ancient Chinese people's high mastery of scientific knowledge.
