The chief justice of China's Supreme People's Court, Zhou Qiang said it is the top priority of the courts to serve the public.
Speaking at the annual National Court Work Conference in Beijing he noted that in the last few years, People's Courts at all levels had resolved cases according to the law, including gender discrimination at workplaces, failure to perform the duty of supporting parents and online privacy infringement.
The courts have also made headway against domestic violence with a pilot program, he added.
The conference was held in Beijing on Monday and Tuesday, where the participants also vowed to promote fairness and justice at every legal step.
