Dragon boat races, lion dances, and making zongzi and other snacks. That's how people in Ningbo city in East China's Zhejiang Province are celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival.
These traditional activities can be seen in many places across the country, dragon boat racing in particular, but here in Ningbo, there's a twist.
Instead of a crew seated in a dragon boat, competitors have their own bucket.
And in Shangqiu of Henan Province, people dress in traditional Han costumes to commemorate the patriotic poet Qu Yuan, who lived 2,200 years ago during the Warring States Period.
Legend has it that his tragic death led to the origin of the Dragon Boat Festival.
