World Trade Organization officials say US President Donald Trump's steel and aluminum tariffs has been largely criticized during a meeting in Geneva.

The disapproval comes after Washington's complaint at the WTO Friday against China over the alleged theft of US intellectual property. The US statement says China may have broken WTO rules by denying basic patent rights of overseas holders, including American companies. It claims China aimed to allow Chinese entities use the technology after the licensing contract ends. Analysts say the complaint was part of a package of trade measures announced by Trump on Thursday.
