ISIL said it's behind the Jalalabad attack when at least four gunmen blasted their way into Save the Children's office in Afghanistan on Wednesday.
At least two people were killed, and 14 others were injured in the explosion, according to AFP.
Around 50 staff were inside the building at that time, according to local media.
The attack was reportedly carried out at 9:10 a.m. local time by suicide bombers targeting the offices of international aid agency Save the Children, which is in the vicinity of the city's 3rd police district.
In response, Save the Children issued a statement saying they're “devastated” and have decided to close their offices and temporarily suspend programs across Afghanistan.

The attack began with gunmen blowing up a car at the entrance of the Save the Children building, they later stormed the compound.
Security forces cleared the attackers and finally ended the assault after more than three hours, according to AFP, citing a provincial official.
The assault comes days after Taliban gunmen stormed the Intercontinental hotel in the Afghan capital city of Kabul, killing at least 22 people, mostly foreigners.
