Building a Shared Future: China and Africa will work together to tackle AIDS

The wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping says China and Africa will work together on a three-year AIDS prevention program with teenagers across Africa. Peng Liyuan made the announcement with the spouses of 37 African leaders on the sidelines of the China-Africa forum. Peng Liyuan is a World Health Organisation Goodwill Ambassador for Tuberculosis and HIVAIDS. Over the years China has sent medical teams to more than 40 African countries, and provided drugs, medical equipment and other materials. Fighting AIDS is a key task under the framework of FOCAC.
