Along with 16 other victims who lost their lives in the Florida shooting, cross country coach Scott Beigel was honored by thousands of runners in the US on Tuesday. Runners congregated in the center of Pine Trails Park in Parkland, just a mile from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School where the attack took place a week ago. They made their way around the nearly three-quarter-mile facility 17 times to commemorate the victims. /VCG Photo

Beigel was a geography teacher who “never taught us anything technical about running or training – he taught us how to run with our hearts,” said sophomore Annagrace Myers, as one of the students giving tributes to their fallen coach through speeches. /VCG Photo
