Putin also unveiled new weapons, saying they can hit almost anywhere in the world and not be intercepted.
VLADIMIR PUTIN RUSSIAN PRESIDENT "Any use of nuclear weapons against Russia and its allies, small or medium or of any strength, will be perceived as a nuclear attack on our country. The response will be immediate and with all due consequences."
He showed off images of weapons he said were either in development or ready to use. They include a new intercontinental ballistic missile, a small nuclear warhead that can be attached to cruise missiles, underwater nuclear drones and a supersonic weapon. Putin called NATO's build-up on Russia's borders and the roll-out of an American anti-missile system useless. And he said Russia is boosting its military, transportation and scientific work in the Arctic.
