Thailand remains a popular destination for Chinese tourists. But arrivals have slowed in recent months after the Phoenix boat disaster in July, when a tourist vessel carrying mainly Chinese tourists capsized, killing more than 40 Chinese nationals. And in late September, the Chinese embassy issued a warning to visitors after 6 tourists died in extreme weather conditions. So CGTN's Tony Cheng asked Weerasak Kowsurat, the minister of Tourism and Sport, whether he could guarantee that visitors to Thailand would be safe.
