"Stoking a new Cold War is out of sync with the times. There is no market for inciting bloc confrontation," Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Thursday.
Wang made the remarks at a press conference in Beijing on the sidelines of the first session of the 13th National People's Congress, answering a question on the Indo-Pacific strategy led by the US, Japan, India and Australia.
"There is never a shortage of headline-grabbing ideas. They're like sea foam in the Pacific or Indian Ocean. They may get some attention but will be short-lived."
"The four countries have said that the strategy is targeted against no one. I hope they mean what they said," said Wang.
