The death toll has risen to 17 from Tuesday's earthquake that hit Taiwan's Hualien County, after two more victims from the Chinese mainland were confirmed dead on Sunday. A total of 285 others were also injured. The search and rescue operations have finished after more than 100 hours since the magnitude-6.5 earthquake jolted Hualien late Tuesday night. Heavy machinery will be used to clear out the ruins of the 12-story Yun Men Tusi Ti building.
